11-Foot King Cobra Rescued from Odisha’s Mayurbhanj Village

An 11-foot-long King Cobra was rescued from a house in Bangra village, located in Odisha’s Mayurbhanj district. The snake, which weighed 6.7 kgs, was discovered by forest officials and later released into the Dukra wildlife range.

Rescue Operation

Srikanta Mohanty, Range Officer of Pithabata Range, Baripada forest division, explained, “Yesterday at around 6.30 pm we were informed that a King Cobra had stayed in a house at Bangra village. On being informed, we immediately sent out a team along with some experienced snake rescuers to the village.”

Details of the Snake

The snake was 11 feet long and weighed 6.7 kgs. After being examined by a local veterinarian, it was released into its natural habitat the following morning. The snake had entered the house while chasing a monitor lizard, according to the homeowner.
