Zimbabwe Coach Praises Shubman Gill and Riyan Parag Before T20I Match Against India
Zimbabwe head coach Justin Sammons praised Indian cricket captain Shubman Gill, calling him a ‘superb cricketer’ ahead of the first T20I match at Harare Sports Club. Gill has played 14 T20I matches, scoring 335 runs at a strike rate of 147.58.
Sammons recalled first seeing Gill in 2021 during a Test series against India, noting his impressive work ethic and professionalism. He also praised Riyan Parag, describing him as a ‘dangerous’ player who had a great IPL season.
The match will be India’s first T20I since the retirement of key players Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and Ravindra Jadeja, providing an opportunity for young players to shine.
India will play the first match of the T20I series on Saturday at the Harare Sports Club.
