Youngest Professor Suborno Isaac Bari Inspires Students at USTM
Ri Bhoi (Meghalaya) [India], August 15: Prof Suborno Isaac Bari, known as the world’s youngest professor from New York University, USA, visited the University of Science and Technology Meghalaya (USTM) and addressed thousands of students and participants on the topic ‘The Impact of Early STEM Education.’
More than 500 children and participants from various schools and institutions attended this historic event, interacting with the ‘Einstein of our time.’ Prof. Bari was accompanied by his father, Rashidul Bari, a teacher at Brooklyn Tech New York, USA, and Pranesh Debnath, State representative of North East India Vyomika Space Academy and India coordinator for Prof Suborno Isaac Bari.
The event began with a grand welcome for Prof. Bari, including a human chain formed by students. USTM Chancellor Mahbubul Hoque, Vice Chancellor Prof GD Sharma, Dr RK Sharma, and Dr BK Das felicitated the guests. Prof. Bari delivered an insightful lecture on early STEM education, incorporating stories of Indian scientists Dr Vikram Sarabhai and Dr APJ Abdul Kalam.
After his speech, Prof. Bari answered questions related to Physics, Maths, and general topics. He emphasized the importance of math and science in modern education and expressed his desire to help people understand these subjects. ‘My goal is to be a professor and try to help those in need of a good resource,’ he said.
Prof. Bari also shared his experiences from visiting CPS Patharkandi and CPS Badarpur schools. His father, Rashidul Bari, expressed his pride in his son’s achievements. The event concluded with a vote of thanks from Prof GD Sharma, Vice-Chancellor of USTM, who highlighted the university’s commitment to fostering knowledge and innovation.
