Dubai [UAE], August 10: The fourth day of the IMMAF Youth World Championships at Mubadala Arena was filled with excitement as young athletes from around the world showcased their skills. The arena was buzzing with energy as a diverse crowd cheered on the competitors.

Highlights of the Day

Friday’s events focused on the Youth A category (ages 16-17), with athletes pushing their limits to achieve victory. The competition will continue tomorrow, marking the final day of this thrilling fifth edition of the championships.

Organizers and Hosts

The championships are organized by the International Mixed Martial Arts Federation (IMMAF) and hosted by the UAE Jiu-Jitsu and Mixed Martial Arts Federation. Abdullah Al Zaabi, Head of the Events and Activities Section at the UAE Jiu-Jitsu and Mixed Martial Arts Federation, highlighted the UAE’s leadership in making the championship a success.

Al Zaabi stated, “We’ve hosted this championship for three years in a row and have extended the hosting agreement for another three years. This is part of our efforts to establish Abu Dhabi as a premier destination for major international sports events. We aim to promote mixed martial arts by organizing local, regional, and international championships. These events help us discover and nurture young talents, allowing them to perform at their best and enhancing the sport’s global presence.”

Building a Strong National Team

Al Zaabi also emphasized the Federation’s dedication to building a strong national team capable of competing at all levels. “We’ve developed advanced training programs and organized intensive training camps both in the UAE and abroad, while also bringing in top coaches and technical experts. We are focused on identifying and supporting young talents early on to help them develop their skills. These efforts are part of our long-term strategy to strengthen the UAE’s position in the global sports arena.”

This year’s championship has received widespread praise from all participating delegations. Officials, athletes, and families have commended the high level of organization and the warm welcome they received in Abu Dhabi. Garegin Aghabalyan, President of the Armenian Mixed Martial Arts Federation, said, “The organization of the championship is excellent, and Abu Dhabi has a great reputation for hosting events like this. They’ve successfully held this event for three years in a row, meeting the highest standards.”
