The Yogi government is making extensive preparations for the Mahakumbh 2025 in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh. Teams from the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) are working with healthcare professionals to ensure the event’s safety. A specialized team is being trained to handle chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear threats.

Healthcare Preparations

Under Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s guidance, Prayagraj’s hospitals are being upgraded to accommodate medical checks for both domestic and international visitors. VK Mishra, Joint Director (Medical Health), confirmed that emergency arrangements are in place, including staff training for crisis response. TB Sapru and Swaroop Rani Hospitals are prepared to meet the medical needs of devotees. A total of 291 MBBS doctors, 90 Ayurvedic and Unani practitioners, and 182 staff nurses will be deployed.

Environmental Initiatives

The Uttar Pradesh government plans to plant 2.71 lakh saplings to promote sustainability. The Forest Department, Municipal Corporation, and Prayagraj Development Authority will lead this initiative. Divisional Forest Officer Arvind Kumar stated that 1.49 lakh saplings will be planted with a budget of Rs 29 crore, focusing on Saraswati Hitech City.

Temple Renovations

The state government is also restoring Prayagraj’s historic temples, with renovations nearing completion. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Union Tourism and Culture Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat stressed the importance of timely project completion. The Tourism Department, Smart City, and Prayagraj Development Authority are collaborating to finish these projects quickly.

Event Highlights

During Mahakumbh 2025, millions are expected to bathe at the sacred Sangam, where the Ganga, Yamuna, and Saraswati rivers meet. Devotees will visit Prayagraj’s temples to express their devotion to the Sanatan faith.
