Yogi Government Introduces Strict Law Against Exam Paper Leaks in Uttar Pradesh
The Yogi government in Uttar Pradesh has introduced a new law called the ‘UP Public Examination Ordinance 2024’ to stop exam paper leaks. This law includes very strict punishments like life imprisonment and a fine of one crore rupees for anyone found guilty of leaking exam papers.
However, Congress spokesperson Surendra Rajput has criticized this new law. He said, ‘The government can make any law, but it should explain how it will be followed. As long as ineligible people are in important positions, paper leaks will continue to happen.’ He also added that Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath should take real action against the culprits and not just make promises.
Earlier this year, on February 24, the Yogi government had to cancel the police recruitment exam because of a paper leak. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath promised a thorough investigation and assured that those responsible would be punished. The examinees were happy when they were officially informed about the cancellation of the exam.
