Road Widening and Beautification in Prayagraj
In preparation for the Mahakumbh 2025, the government led by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is undertaking a major road-widening and beautification project in Prayagraj. The focus is on enhancing roads leading to the Sangam, a key site for the event. The work is expected to be completed by November 30, ensuring smooth access and a pleasant experience for the expected 40 crore visitors.
Additional Mela Officer Vivek Chaturvedi stated that with the help of the Prayagraj Development Authority (PDA) and the Cantonment Board, roads connecting Prayagraj city to Sangam are being widened to more than twice their previous size. This is crucial as the number of visitors is anticipated to be one and a half to two times more than the previous Kumbh Mela.
Key roads such as Triveni Road, Lal Sadak, Kali Sadak, Naval Rai Road, Kila Ghat Road, and Daraganj Road are being expanded. Interlocking footpaths are also being installed for visitor convenience. The construction of Triveni Road and the River Front Road in Daraganj is nearing completion.
Hoardings and signboards will be placed along the roads to guide visitors, and information centers will be set up at various locations. The project aims to ensure a grand and smooth Mahakumbh 2025.
