In Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is taking significant steps to ensure food safety. On Tuesday, a crucial meeting will be held to discuss strict actions against incidents of spitting in food. The government plans to introduce two new ordinances: the ‘Prevention of Pseudo and Anti-Harmony Activities and Prohibition of Spitting Ordinance 2024’ and the ‘UP Prevention of Contamination in Food (Consumer Right to Know) Ordinance 2024’.
These ordinances aim to establish strict rules against serving contaminated food and empower consumers with information about their food’s origin and preparation. The meeting will include key officials such as Additional Chief Secretary Home Deepak Kumar and others from the Home Department.
Earlier, CM Yogi Adityanath held a ‘Janta Darbar’ at the Gorakhnath temple, addressing public grievances and instructing officials to resolve issues. Meanwhile, Uttar Pradesh is preparing for by-elections in ten Assembly seats, with the Election Commission expected to announce dates soon. These bypolls are important for both the BJP and opposition parties, with the Samajwadi Party already declaring candidates for six seats and planning to contest alongside the Congress.
