Yogi Adityanath Meets Kuldeep Yadav After India’s T20 World Cup Win

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath met with India’s wrist spinner Kuldeep Yadav at his residence on Monday after the Indian cricket team clinched the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 title. The team, led by Rohit Sharma, defeated South Africa by seven runs in the final held in Barbados.

Yogi Adityanath shared a photo with Kuldeep Yadav on social media, captioning it, “Today, a courtesy meeting was held with Kuldeep Yadav, member of the T-20 World Cup 2024 winning Indian cricket team, at his official residence in Lucknow.”

India ended a 13-year ICC World Cup trophy drought with this victory. Virat Kohli was named Player of the Match for his valuable knock of 76 runs, while Jasprit Bumrah, who took 15 wickets at an economy rate of 4.17, was awarded Player of the Tournament.

The T20 World Cup-winning Indian team received a grand welcome in Delhi and later celebrated with a victory parade in Mumbai, from Marine Drive to the iconic Wankhede Stadium. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) awarded the team Rs 125 crore in prize money. The players also shared their experiences and celebrated their win with fans at a packed Wankhede Stadium, taking a victory lap to the tune of ‘Vande Mataram’.
