In preparation for the Mahakumbh 2025, the government of Uttar Pradesh, led by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, is focusing on restoring historic temples in Prayagraj. The renovations are nearing completion, as stated by Vivek Chaturvedi, the Additional Mela Officer for Mahakumbh. A recent review meeting in Lucknow, attended by Yogi Adityanath and Union Tourism and Culture Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, highlighted the importance of finishing these projects on time.

Collaborative Efforts for Timely Completion

Three main departments—the Tourism Department, Smart City, and Prayagraj Development Authority—are working together to ensure the projects are completed quickly. Vivek Chaturvedi mentioned that preparations are progressing rapidly, with a focus on both faith and comfort for devotees and tourists.

Temple Renovation Projects

The Tourism Department is managing 15 temple corridor and renovation projects, with 14 expected to be completed by November 15 and the last by November 30. Key projects include the Bhardwaj Corridor, Mankameshwar Temple Corridor, and several others.

Smart City and Development Authority Initiatives

The Smart City initiative is working on three major projects, including the Akshayavat Corridor, all set to finish by November 15. The Prayagraj Development Authority is finalizing the Nagvasuki Temple renovation by November 30 and the Hanuman Temple Corridor by December 10.

During Mahakumbh 2025, millions are expected to visit Prayagraj to bathe at the sacred Sangam and visit the revered temples, expressing their devotion to the Sanatan faith.
