World Bank President Ajay Banga praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for prioritizing a strong relationship with the United States, both bilaterally and through the Quad security grouping. Banga highlighted that this has been Modi’s strategy since taking office.

PM Modi’s US Visit

During his three-day visit to the United States, PM Modi attended the sixth Quad Leaders’ Summit. US President Joe Biden hosted PM Modi along with Prime Minister Anthony Albanese of Australia and Prime Minister Kishida Fumio of Japan. Modi also interacted with the Indian diaspora in New York and addressed the ‘Summit of the Future’ at the United Nations General Assembly.

Meeting with Tech CEOs

PM Modi met with top tech leaders and CEOs at a roundtable hosted by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) School of Engineering in New York. He assured US business leaders of India’s commitment to protecting intellectual property and fostering tech innovation. The roundtable included prominent figures like Adobe CEO Shantanu Narayen, Google CEO Sundar Pichai, IBM CEO Arvind Krishna, AMD CEO Lisa Su, and NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang.

Discussions focused on collaboration in areas such as artificial intelligence, quantum computing, semiconductors, and biotechnology. Modi emphasized the importance of the India-US Initiative on Critical and Emerging Technologies (iCET) as central to the India-US Comprehensive Global Strategic Partnership.

The CEOs shared insights on leveraging technology for innovation and expressed interest in collaborating with India. Modi highlighted that technology cooperation between India and the US could drive mutual benefits and growth.
