World Bank Approves $1.5 Billion to Boost India’s Green Energy

The World Bank has approved $1.5 billion in financing to help India develop low-carbon energy. This funding will support renewable energy, green hydrogen, and climate finance.

Last year, a similar amount was approved to waive transmission charges for green hydrogen projects. The new funding aims to produce 450,000 metric tons of green hydrogen and 1,500 MW of electrolyzers annually by 2025-26, increase renewable energy capacity, and reduce emissions by 50 million tons per year.
