Woman Kidnapped by Husband and In-Laws in Pune

In a shocking event, a woman was allegedly kidnapped by her husband, Sumit Shahane, and her in-laws in the Pimpri-Chinchwad area of Pune. The incident happened in broad daylight on June 19 and was captured on CCTV, which later went viral on social media.

Details of the Incident

The woman, who worked at a real estate company in Wakad, was forcibly dragged and put inside a car by her husband and in-laws after a fight at her office. The husband allegedly demanded that she accompany the family to sign divorce papers. When she resisted, they forcefully took her away.

Rescue and Police Action

After the footage went viral, the woman lodged a complaint with the police. She mentioned that her husband beat her, gave her anesthesia, and made her sign some documents. She managed to seek help from a local when the vehicle stopped at a temple in the Manchar area, leading to her rescue by the police.

The police have filed an FIR at Wakad Police Station under Indian Penal Code sections 365, 323, and 328. Further investigations are ongoing.
