Wolf Attack in Mohan Pipri Village: 11-Year-Old Boy Injured, CM Yogi Adityanath Launches ‘Operation Bhediya’

In the early hours of Monday morning, an 11-year-old boy named Imran Ali was attacked by a wolf in Mohan Pipri village, Bahraich, Uttar Pradesh. The boy’s father, Mohammad Umar, recounted the incident, stating, “We were asleep on the roof when the wolf came and pounced on my son. He screamed for help and people gathered.” Imran Ali was severely wounded and admitted to a hospital.

Mohammad Umar mentioned that the wolf menace has been ongoing in the village for several days, with many villagers becoming targets. Despite the administration’s efforts, the wolf has not been captured. Villagers are now afraid to venture out at night and are assisting local authorities in trying to capture the wild animal.

On Sunday, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath visited Bahraich district to meet the affected families. He assured the locals that the administration would work under ‘Operation Bhediya’ until the district is safe. The Chief Minister said, “There have been some casualties due to the attacks from the wolves. There have been some deaths due to the terror of wolves for the last two months, and some children have also been injured. When I was informed about this for the first time, I immediately instructed the administration to run a campaign.”

The forest department is making all efforts to capture the sixth “killer” wolf under the ‘Operation Bhediya’ campaign. Since July, a pack of six wolves has killed nine people and injured 50 in Bahraich. The Uttar Pradesh Forest Department captured the fifth ‘killer’ wolf on September 10, but one wolf remains elusive.
