West Indies captain Rovman Powell praised Shai Hope after their nine-wicket win over the USA in the T20 World Cup. Hope’s unbeaten 82 runs led the team to victory at Kensington Oval. Powell also commended Roston Chase, who took three wickets and was named ‘Player of the Match.’

The West Indies are now second in Group 2, while the USA is at the bottom with two losses.

Match Highlights

West Indies won the toss and chose to bowl first. Andries Gous and Nitish Kumar were the only USA players to score over 20 runs, as the team was all out for 128 runs in 19.5 overs. Roston Chase, Andre Russell, and Alzarri Joseph were the top bowlers for West Indies.

In the run chase, Shai Hope scored an unbeaten 82 runs off 39 balls, with Nicholas Pooran contributing 27 runs. The West Indies achieved the target with ease, securing their first win in the Super 8 stage.

Player of the Match

Roston Chase was awarded ‘Player of the Match’ for his excellent bowling performance, taking three wickets for 19 runs.
