West Bengal BJP Chief Sukanta Majumdar Plans Protests Against Trinamool Congress

West Bengal BJP President Sukanta Majumdar announced on Wednesday that his party will frequently protest against the Trinamool Congress (TMC) government on issues concerning the people. He emphasized that politics in the state happens at the grassroots level and the BJP will be actively involved in addressing people’s issues.

Despite the BJP’s recent setbacks in the bypolls to the state assembly, Majumdar noted that many factors influence election outcomes, with organizational factors contributing about 25%. He stated, “In the coming days, the BJP will be in the mood of agitation…An organization is part of the election, but it is not the heart. Other factors influence the elections.”

The TMC won all four bypoll seats: Raiganj, Ranaghat Dakshin, Bagdah, and Maniktala. Majumdar expressed concern over the BJP receiving very few votes in some booths, particularly in areas with a large majority community population.

West Bengal Leader of Opposition Suvendu Adhikari alleged that more than 50 lakh Hindus were not allowed to vote in the Lok Sabha polls and over two lakh were not allowed to vote in the by-polls. Adhikari announced plans to start a legal battle and launch a portal for those who were not allowed to vote, ensuring full secrecy for registrants.
