The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a weather bulletin for Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal. A depression over the Bay of Bengal moved towards the north Tamil Nadu and south Andhra Pradesh coasts, near Chennai, and weakened into a low-pressure area.
Current Weather Conditions
The low-pressure area remains over south coastal Andhra Pradesh and north coastal Tamil Nadu. It is expected to weaken further. A cyclonic circulation is also present over north Lakshadweep.
Rainfall Forecast
Light to moderate rain with thunderstorms is expected in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal from Thursday to Sunday. Heavy rain is likely in Vellore, Tirupattur, Krishnagiri, Dharmapuri, Salem, and Erode on Friday. More heavy rain is expected in Coimbatore, Tiruppur, and other districts on Sunday and Monday.

The sky will be partly cloudy with temperatures ranging from 33-34°C during the day and 25-26°C at night. Thunderstorms and lightning are expected in some areas over the next 48 hours.
