Vote Counting Begins in Jammu and Kashmir and Haryana Elections
The stage is set for the counting of votes in the assembly elections of Jammu and Kashmir and Haryana. The counting process in Haryana will start at 8 am, beginning with postal ballots, followed by Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) after 30 minutes. Haryana’s Chief Electoral Officer, Pankaj Agarwal, announced that 93 counting centers have been established across 22 districts for 90 assembly constituencies.
Security Measures in Haryana
Comprehensive security arrangements have been made, with 30 companies of Central Armed Police Forces deployed at the counting centers. A three-tier security system is in place, with central security forces in the innermost layer, followed by state armed police and district police personnel. Around 12,000 police officers are on duty, and CCTV cameras have been installed to monitor activities.
Counting Process in Jammu and Kashmir
In Jammu and Kashmir, Chief Electoral Officer PK Pole stated that counting will begin at 7:30 am for postal ballots and 8 am for EVMs. The counting will occur at 25 locations for territorial polling stations and 3 locations for migrant polling stations. Security is tight, with a triple-layer system protecting the EVMs.

Mobile phones are prohibited inside counting centers, and only authorized personnel are allowed entry. Results will be available on the Election Commission of India’s website and the Voter Helpline App. Media centers have been set up for press updates, and social media will be monitored to prevent rumors.
