Voice for Baloch Missing Persons Protest Completes 5496 Days in Quetta

The Voice for Baloch Missing Persons (VBMP) has been holding a sit-in protest camp outside the Quetta Press Club for 5496 days, demanding the safe recovery of missing individuals in Balochistan. VBMP is an organization dedicated to advocating for those who have disappeared, reportedly due to actions by Pakistani security forces.

Solidarity and Support

Sibghatullah, the Convener of Baloch Yakjehti Committee Makran, along with others, visited the camp to show support for the families of the missing. Mama Qadeer Baloch, Vice Chairman of VBMP, emphasized the Baloch community’s long struggle for independence and the lack of media coverage and political awareness in the past.

Peaceful Advocacy

VBMP, led by figures like Mama Qadeer Baloch, has been actively engaged in peaceful protests and advocacy efforts. They aim to bring attention to the issue of enforced disappearances and pressure authorities and international organizations to address the plight of missing Baloch individuals and their families.

Human Rights Violations

Mama Qadeer Baloch criticized Pakistani forces for forcibly abducting Baloch youths, violating international human rights laws. He praised the Baloch community’s disciplined approach in peacefully seeking the recovery of their loved ones and highlighted VBMP’s continuous efforts to collaborate with human rights organizations.

Impact on Families and Communities

Forced disappearances in Balochistan involve the abduction of activists, journalists, and civilians by state security forces or associated groups without legal procedures or disclosure of their locations. This practice creates fear and uncertainty, profoundly affecting families and communities who strive for answers and accountability regarding their missing relatives.
