29th Fenesta Open National Tennis Championship Kicks Off in New Delhi
New Delhi, India – The 29th Fenesta Open National Tennis Championship will take place from September 28 to October 12 at the DLTA Complex in New Delhi. This event will feature top tennis players like multiple Asian Games medallist Vishnu Vardhan, top seed Prajwal Dev, and defending champion Rashmikaa S Bhamidipaty.
Organized by a leading business conglomerate under the aegis of the All India Tennis Association and Delhi Lawn Tennis Association, the tournament is India’s largest domestic tennis event. It will see participation from talented players across the country competing for prestigious titles.
Past editions of the tournament have featured some of India’s top tennis stars, including Rohan Bopanna, Somdev Devvarman, Yuki Bhambri, Sania Mirza, and Rutuja Bhosale. The Championship is unique as it covers all categories, including Men, Women, and U-18, U-16, and U-14 events for boys and girls.
SD Prajwal Dev is the top seed in the men’s singles event, while Rashmikaa S Bhamidipaty will defend her title in the women’s singles category. Other notable participants include Vishnu Vardhan and Riya Bhatia.
Ajay S Shriram, Chairman & Senior Managing Director of DCM Shriram Ltd, expressed excitement about the tournament, emphasizing its role in fostering Indian tennis talent. He also announced a Tennis scholarship of Rs 25,000 each for the winners and runners-up in the U16 and U14 singles events, supported by the DCM Shriram Foundation.
The tournament’s opening week will feature Men, Women, U-18 boys, and U-18 girls in Doubles categories, with qualifying rounds on September 28 and 29. The main draw will be played from September 30 to October 5, while the U-16 and U-14 matches will take place from October 6 to October 12.
Since 1992, DCM Shriram Ltd. has been contributing to the growth of Indian tennis through the Fenesta Open National Tennis Championship. The winners will receive prize money from a total prize pool of over Rs 21.55 Lakh and Kit Allowance in the junior categories.
