Virat Kohli Praises Jasprit Bumrah for T20 World Cup Heroics

In Mumbai, Maharashtra, India’s star batter Virat Kohli had special praise for pacer Jasprit Bumrah, who played a key role in India’s recent T20 World Cup victory. Bumrah’s exceptional performance helped India win the title after a long wait. He maintained an impressive economy rate of 4.17 and took 15 wickets, earning the Player of the Tournament award.

During the final against South Africa, Bumrah, along with Arshdeep Singh and Hardik Pandya, kept things tight, helping India end a 13-year drought in ICC World Cup events. Kohli expressed his admiration for Bumrah, calling him a ‘once-in-a-generation bowler’ and even joked about signing a petition to make Bumrah the eighth wonder of the world.

With 30 runs needed from 30 deliveries, Bumrah bowled two crucial overs, conceding just six runs and taking a key wicket, which shifted the momentum in India’s favor. Kohli praised Bumrah’s efforts, urging everyone to applaud the bowler who consistently brought India back into the game.

Kohli, who experienced World Cup success in 2011 under MS Dhoni’s leadership, finally connected with the emotions of his senior teammates who had cried with joy back then. The victory in Barbados was a momentous occasion for Kohli and skipper Rohit Sharma, both of whom were emotional after the win.

After the T20 World Cup, Kohli announced his retirement from the T20I format, making way for younger players to take over.
