The Indian men’s cricket team is preparing for their upcoming ODI series against Sri Lanka, which starts on August 2 at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. Key players like Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma have already arrived in Sri Lanka to join the team.

During a training session, Kohli was seen sharing a laugh with head coach Gautam Gambhir. Spinner Kuldeep Yadav practiced batting, and KL Rahul worked on his wicketkeeping skills. Shreyas Iyer was also present at the session.

Before the ODI series, the Indian team, under the new leadership of Gambhir and captain Suryakumar Yadav, won all three T20I matches against Sri Lanka. The T20I series started on July 27, with India securing a 43-run win in the first match. The second match saw a seven-wicket victory in a rain-affected game, and the third match ended in a thrilling Super Over win.

In the upcoming ODI series, Rohit and Kohli are returning to the Indian team after leading them to a memorable seven-run victory against South Africa in the ICC T20 World Cup final in Barbados on June 29. Rohit had an outstanding tournament, scoring 257 runs in eight games. He is also close to achieving significant milestones in his ODI career, needing just 291 runs to reach 11,000 ODI runs and 60 runs to surpass former player and coach Rahul Dravid as the fourth-highest run-getter for India in ODIs.
