Vijender Gupta and BJP MLAs to Meet President Droupadi Murmu Over Delhi CM Kejriwal’s Imprisonment
New Delhi [India], August 30: The leader of the Opposition in the Delhi Assembly, Vijender Gupta, along with other BJP MLAs, will meet President Droupadi Murmu to discuss concerns about Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s imprisonment and its impact on the city.
The meeting is scheduled for August 30 at 5 p.m. The delegation will present a memorandum about the constitutional crisis in the capital caused by Kejriwal’s imprisonment. The delegation includes MLAs Mohan Singh Bisht, Om Prakash Sharma, Ajay Mahawar, Abhay Verma, Anil Bajpai, Jitender Mahajan, Kartar Singh Tanwar, and former Delhi Minister Rajkumar Anand.
They claim Kejriwal’s government is corrupt and that the city’s administration has collapsed, leading to a crisis exacerbated by monsoon rains and frequent accidents. The memorandum will also highlight issues like the non-formation of the Sixth Delhi Finance Commission and the failure to present the Comptroller and Auditor General of India report in the House.
Vijender Gupta stated, “Kejriwal’s government in Delhi is engulfed in corruption, and the city’s administrative system has collapsed. The monsoon rains have created a flood-like situation, putting the residents of Delhi in a severe crisis. The government has been utterly ineffective in preventing the frequent accidents occurring as a result.”
After meeting with the President, the Opposition leader will address the media on Friday at 5 p.m.
