Vigilance Officials Seize Rs 2.50 Lakh Worth of Illegal PDS Rice in Nizamabad

On August 13, vigilance officials from the Ramachandrapuram Unit seized Rs 2.50 lakh worth of illegally stored Public Distribution System (PDS) rice in Nizamabad, Telangana. The rice was found during an inspection at Sri Raja Rajeswara Rice Mill.

Details of the Seizure

Officials discovered approximately 180 quintals of PDS rice, valued at Rs 2.50 lakh. The primary suspects in this case are Muda Ramya, the rice mill owner, and Abdul Kareem, an auto driver.

Official Statement

According to a press release from the Regional Vigilance & Enforcement Officer, Ramachandrapuram, the officials inspected the rice mill and found an auto carrying 30 quintals of PDS rice. Additionally, 150 quintals of PDS rice were illegally stored in the mill. The seized rice has been handed over to the Deputy Tahsildar for further legal action.
