During a special briefing, Secretary (East) Jaideep Mazumdar highlighted the discussions between both nations on the importance of the South China Sea. He mentioned that both Vietnam and India share a commitment to a free, open, and rules-based region.

Prime Minister Modi appreciated the shared cultural heritage between India and Vietnam. He also emphasized Vietnam’s importance in India’s Act East Policy and the Indo-Pacific vision, stating that both countries have good coordination in these areas.

Several Memorandums of Understanding were signed to strengthen the bilateral ties between the two countries. Pham Minh Chinh, on a three-day state visit, was received with a ceremonial reception and a Guard of Honour at Rashtrapati Bhavan, where he was warmly greeted by PM Modi.
