New Delhi [India], August 15: Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar extended his greetings on the 78th Independence Day, emphasizing the celebration of justice, liberty, equality, and fraternity, which are the foundations of the world’s largest democracy. He urged citizens to reflect on the nation’s journey and work towards ‘Viksit Bharat’ by 2047.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi hoisted the national flag at Red Fort for the 11th consecutive time. Despite an overcast sky and slight drizzle, the event proceeded with the Punjab Regiment Military band playing the National Anthem. PM Modi received a ‘Rashtriya Salute’ and inspected the Guard of Honour. Flower petals were showered by two Advanced Light Helicopters Dhruv of the Indian Air Force.

The theme for this year’s Independence Day is ‘Viksit Bharat @ 2047,’ aiming to transform India into a developed nation by 2047.
