Ratan Tata passed away at 86 on October 9, 2024, at Mumbai’s Breach Candy Hospital. His final rites were conducted with full state honors at Worli Crematorium, attended by his stepmother Simone Tata, close aide Shantanu Naidu, and his adopted dog, Goa.

Global leaders have expressed tributes and condolences, acknowledging Tata’s visionary leadership and philanthropic efforts. As the former chairman of Tata Group and Tata Sons, he left a legacy of business excellence. He led Tata Sons from 1991 to 2012 and was later named Chairman Emeritus. In 2008, he received the Padma Vibhushan, India’s second-highest civilian award. Under his leadership, Tata Group expanded globally, acquiring brands like Jaguar Land Rover and Tetley, inspiring innovation and sustainability.
