Uttarakhand Prepares for New Criminal Laws: Chief Secretary Radha Raturi Announces

Dehradun (Uttarakhand) [India], June 25: Uttarakhand is ready for the implementation of three new criminal laws starting July 1. Chief Secretary Radha Raturi announced this during a video conference chaired by the Home Secretary of India.

Training and Preparation

Raturi stated that the state has coordinated with the Central Detective Training Institute (CDTI) and Bureau of Police Research and Development (BPR&D). Fifty officers have completed a master trainer course in Ghaziabad and Jaipur. A new Uttarakhand Police Handbook has been prepared to simplify the major laws.

Training has been decentralized to the district level, with online modules for employees not directly involved in police investigations. About 1,000 recruit constables and 500 head constables have received training. All police personnel are registered on the iGOT Karmayogi portal.
