Uttarakhand Celebrates 19th Anniversary of Right to Information Act

In Dehradun, Uttarakhand Governor Gurmit Singh honored Public Information Officers and First Appellate Officers for their outstanding work during a special event at the Raj Bhavan Auditorium. This event marked the 19th anniversary of the Right to Information Act.

Commendations for Uttarakhand Police

Chief Information Commissioner-in-charge, Vivek Sharma, praised the Uttarakhand Police for their significant contributions under the RTI Act, highlighting their role in promoting transparency and accountability. Governor Singh also lauded the police’s efforts, particularly under the leadership of Director General of Police Abhinav Kumar, for efficiently handling applications.

Special Recognition

SHO Gopal Dutt Bhatt from Narendra Nagar, Tehri Garhwal, received special recognition for his exceptional work. Governor Singh emphasized that the RTI Act enhances governance by making it more transparent and accountable, leading to better administration.

Director General of Police Abhinav Kumar congratulated SHO Bhatt and expressed hope that this recognition would motivate other officers to continue their transparent and accountable service to the public.
