Uttarakhand DGP Abhinav Kumar Emphasizes Women’s Safety and Kanwar Yatra Preparations

Uttarakhand Director General of Police (DGP) Abhinav Kumar has made it clear that women’s safety is a top priority for the police. He warned that any police personnel found misbehaving with women or involved in immoral activities will face legal action immediately.

On Monday, DGP Abhinav Kumar chaired a meeting to discuss preparations for the upcoming Kanwar Yatra, which will take place from July 22 to August 2. The meeting included officials from Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Haryana, Punjab, Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan, CRPF, Railway Protection Force, and the Intelligence Bureau.

The Kanwar Yatra is a significant religious event that affects not only Haridwar but also neighboring districts and states. The meeting aimed to ensure the yatra’s safe and peaceful completion, focusing on law and order, crowd management, and traffic management. DGP Kumar emphasized the need for increased social media monitoring and keeping Kanwariyas on designated routes to prevent traffic disruptions.
