Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami Inaugurates Nanda Devi Lokjat Fair in Chamoli
Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami inaugurated the three-day Nanda Devi Lokjat Fair at Kurud in Chamoli district. He visited Maa Nanda, offered prayers, and wished for the state’s happiness and prosperity.
During the event, CM Dhami announced several initiatives, including the construction of sports grounds in Nandanagar, Narayanbagh, and Dewal, security work on both banks of the Pranamati River, and flood protection work in Dhadarbagh of Tharali. He also declared the Nanda Devi Lokjat Fair as a state fair and announced the upgrade of Nandanagar Hospital to a District Hospital.
CM Dhami highlighted the importance of traditional fairs in connecting with cultural roots and stated that the government is preserving these mythological fairs while adding new dimensions. He emphasized the government’s commitment to transparent recruitment exams, noting that anti-cheating laws have been implemented, resulting in over 100 culprits being jailed. More than 16,000 youths have received job appointments due to the government’s efforts.
Dhami also mentioned that Uttarakhand is leading in sustainable development in the country. He added that Badrinath and Kedarnath are being developed under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
