On August 20, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami of Uttarakhand addressed the Jan Milan program in Rudraprayag virtually from his office in Dehradun. He expressed regret for not being able to attend in person due to bad weather but promised to visit soon.

CM Dhami emphasized the government’s strict measures to prevent the misuse of the Chardham name. He praised the Chardham Yatra for setting new records, boosting local livelihoods, and expanding religious tourism. He also noted the increased demand for local products, especially those made by women, through the House of Himalayas initiative.

Earlier, on August 16, District In-charge Char Dham Yatra Secretary R Rajesh Kumar inspected projects in Kedar Valley, which had experienced heavy rains. Accompanied by officials, he reviewed the Rudraprayag-Gaurikund National Highway and urged for speedy completion of road repairs. The inspection included projects by the National Highway Division of PWD and the Irrigation Department, with a focus on repairing damaged roads.
