Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has expressed his delight over the approval of a bill related to the provision of 10% reservation in government service for state agitators by the Governor of the state, Lt Gen Retd Gurmeet Singh. The Chief Minister has also expressed his gratitude to the Governor for this approval.

The Chief Minister stated that the state government can never forget the struggle and sacrifice of the state agitators. He emphasized that state agitators have always been respectable and that the government gives top priority to their facilities. The bill, which was passed in the Assembly and sent to the Governor, has now received his consent, fulfilling a significant pending demand of the state agitators.

Additionally, the Chief Minister mentioned that the government has decided to increase the pension of state agitators and provide pensions to their dependents after their death. The state government is committed to making Uttarakhand the dream state of the agitators.

Earlier in the day, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of 26 schemes worth Rs 3,916.85 lakh at a program organized at Government College Amodi, Champawat ahead of Raksha Bandhan. According to an official release, Dhami inaugurated 13 schemes worth Rs 2510.95 lakh and laid the foundation stone for 13 schemes worth Rs 1465.90 lakh.

A large number of women tied Raksha Sutra on the wrist of Chief Minister Dhami and wished him a long life on this occasion. Dhami made several announcements, including flood protection work in the Belkhet area, flood protection work for the protection of Government College Amodi, and the construction of a suspension bridge in Belkhet. He also announced the naming of the under-construction stadium in Champawat after the late Kailash Gahtori and the naming of the Kharkodi road of Gram Panchayat Dudhauli after martyred commando Naveen Singh Bisht of the Indian Army.
