Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami’s Independence Day Message and Development Plans
Dehradun (Uttarakhand) [India], August 14: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami greeted the people of Uttarakhand on the eve of the 78th Independence Day and paid tribute to the freedom fighters and soldiers who sacrificed for the nation.
The Chief Minister expressed his commitment to making Uttarakhand the best state in India. He highlighted the state’s rapid development due to favorable industrial policies, skilled human resources, and increased capital investment. Uttarakhand has become one of the fastest-developing states in India.
In the 2023-24 SDG report by NITI Aayog, Uttarakhand secured the first position in meeting Sustainable Development Goals. During the Uttarakhand Global Investor Summit-2023, investment agreements worth Rs 3.5 lakh crore were signed, with Rs 81 thousand crore already grounded.
Under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s guidance, schemes worth about Rs 2 lakh crore are being implemented in Uttarakhand. The state is emerging as a hub for tourism, adventure tourism, and film shooting, with new policies promoting industry and tourism.
Projects like the Delhi Dehradun Elevated Road and Vande Bharat Express will soon integrate Dehradun into Delhi NCR, creating new opportunities for investment and employment. The state government is working on inclusive development, with projects like the Manaskhand Mandir Mala Mission and the All Weather Road for the four Dhams.
Efforts are underway to develop Jolly Grant and Pantnagar Airports as international airports. The Parvat Mala Project has been approved for constructing a ropeway network in mountainous areas, and the foundation stone has been laid for ropeways at Shri Kedarnath, Hemkund Sahib, and Purnagiri Temple.
The AIIMS satellite center in Kichha is under construction, and the Vibrant Village Scheme is promoting the development of border villages. The Chief Minister emphasized the importance of women’s empowerment, with initiatives like the Lakhpati Didi scheme, 30% reservation in government jobs, and increased honorarium for Anganwadi workers.
Uttarakhand, known as Devbhoomi and Veerbhoomi, has a proud military tradition. The state government has constructed Shaurya Sthal in Dehradun to honor martyred soldiers, increased the ex-gratia grant for martyred soldiers, and provided government jobs to their family members.
