Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami Inspects Disaster-Hit Rudraprayag
On Tuesday, the Chief Minister of Uttarakhand, Pushkar Singh Dhami, visited Rudraprayag to inspect areas affected by recent heavy rains. He also checked the damage in Sonprayag, another area in the Rudraprayag district.
Speaking to reporters, CM Dhami mentioned that the state has suffered significant damage to both life and property. He noted that road connectivity has been disrupted in 29 places due to landslides. The rescue operation has now concluded, and efforts are focused on restoring roads and other connectivity. New helipads will also be constructed.
CM Dhami expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah for their assistance. He announced that alternate routes will be created for the people and that the Heli Save service in Kedarnath will resume with a 25% discount for passengers. The disaster management team in Dehradun is monitoring the situation closely.
Additionally, CM Dhami allocated Rs 35.77 lakh for the installation of a statue of Maharana Pratap at Eklavaya Residential School in Khatima. Earlier in the day, the Rudraprayag district administration reported that about 150 local people were moved from Kedarnath to Bhimbali under the supervision of the NDRF and SDRF. The NDRF is also relocating 161 people from Jangalchatti to Chirbasa.
