Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami and PM Modi Celebrate International Yoga Day

On International Yoga Day, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami performed yoga with local people, security personnel, and tourists at Parvati Sarovar in Adi Kailash, Pithoragarh, Uttarakhand. He expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for popularizing yoga worldwide.

CM Dhami said, “First up of all, I want to thank PM Modi Ji, as after he presented the resolution at the UN, Yoga has expanded throughout the world under his leadership. It is possible due to his efforts that the whole world is continuously celebrating June 21 as International Yoga Day.”

He also highlighted the increased tourism in the area, stating, “The tourism has grown in this area a lot as PM Modi through his visit drew the attention of people in the border area of Adi Kailash. The tourism potential has grown significantly. In the upcoming days, this area will see many more pilgrims.”

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi performed yoga at the Sher-i-Kashmir International Conference Centre (SKICC) in Srinagar. He urged people to make yoga a part of their daily lives as the world celebrated the 10th International Day of Yoga. PM Modi posted on social media platform X, “As we mark the 10th International Day of Yoga, I urge everyone to make it a part of their daily lives. Yoga fosters strength, good health and wellness. Wonderful to join this year’s programme in Srinagar.”

This year’s theme, “Yoga for Self and Society,” emphasizes yoga’s vital role in fostering both individual well-being and societal harmony.
