Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami Visits Disaster-Hit Tehri Garhwal
Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami conducted a field inspection of the disaster-affected area at Jakhanyali in Tehri-Garhwal district. During his visit, he met with the families of the deceased, offering his condolences and praying for their peace. He assured them that the government would provide all possible help.
CM Dhami emphasized the importance of community support during this difficult time and stated that the safety of people is the state government’s top priority. He directed the District Magistrate to provide immediate relief and make necessary arrangements in relief camps. He also instructed officials to restore road connectivity, electricity, and water supply.
District Magistrate Mayur Dixit reported that a hotel was washed away due to a cloudburst, resulting in the deaths of Bhanu Prasad (50) and Anita Devi (45). The State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) and other departments responded quickly to the incident.
The India Meteorological Department has issued a heavy rainfall alert for the next five days. Authorities have advised Chardham Yatra pilgrims to delay their journeys and stay in safe locations. DGP Abhinav Kumar emphasized the importance of following local authorities’ instructions for safety.
