Dehradun (Uttarakhand) [India], June 22: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami led a cabinet meeting at the Secretariat, marking the first one after the Lok Sabha elections. During the meeting, 12 proposals were approved, covering various departments such as urban development, housing, finance, revenue, personnel, planning, and higher education.

Key Decisions

The cabinet approved the reorganization of the postal structure of the Electrical Safety Department under the Energy and Alternative Energy Department. Another significant decision was the adoption of the Uttarakhand Unified Metropolitan Transport Authority Bill, 2024.

Additionally, the cabinet approved:

  • Rules for centralized and decentralized service in the ministerial class cadre under the Housing Department.
  • A professional training course for finance officers selected through direct recruitment under Uttarakhand Finance Service.
  • A corporate salary account package for state government employees.
  • Amendments to the Tourism Policy, 2018.
  • Creation of outsourced posts for mobile units ‘Food Safety on Wheels’ under the Department of Medical Health and Medical Education.
  • Setting up an Analysis Laboratory in Dehradun under Garhwal Mandal.
  • Relaxation in Procurement Rules, 2017 for organizing a regional conference on family courts.
  • Amendments to the Uttarakhand Cooperative Society Rules to eliminate nepotism and increase transparency.
  • Reserving 33% of posts for women in cooperative societies.
  • Displacement of families for the planned development of Mahasu Devta under the Master Plan in Dehradun.
  • Promulgation of Consolidation Rules-2024 for the Uttarakhand Medical Service Selection Board Ministerial Cadre posts.
  • Extending the service period of specialist doctors to 65 years.
