On the eve of Uttarakhand’s State Foundation Day, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami took part in a ‘Swachhata Abhiyan’ cleanliness drive at the racecourse in Dehradun. During the event, he launched a QR scanner system for street light complaints under the Dehradun Municipal Corporation. This system allows residents to report street light issues by scanning the QR code on the poles.

CM Dhami highlighted the success of the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, initiated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi a decade ago, which has significantly raised cleanliness awareness across India. He emphasized the importance of cleanliness in Uttarakhand, a key destination for tourists and pilgrims.

The Chief Minister also paid tribute to the victims of a recent bus accident in Almora, organizing cleanliness and service programs in their memory. He urged the people of Uttarakhand to maintain cleanliness as a routine to keep the state, known as Devbhoomi, pristine.

As Uttarakhand enters its silver jubilee year, CM Dhami noted the state’s rapid progress in various fields, supported by public participation. He mentioned Uttarakhand’s achievements, including its top ranking in Sustainable Development Goals by NITI Aayog, recognition in Ease of Doing Business, and leadership in startups. The state’s GSDP has grown by 33%, and the unemployment rate has decreased by 4.4% in the past year.
