In Dehradun, Uttarakhand, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami participated in a roadshow to support BJP's municipal president candidate Kishore Bhatt and other councillor candidates from the Uttarkashi Municipal Area. During a public meeting, CM Dhami expressed confidence in forming a triple-engine government across all municipal bodies in the state, citing strong public support.
CM Dhami highlighted his government's initiatives, such as the launch of the winter journey to boost the economy. He also mentioned that over 19,000 youths have secured government jobs in the past three years, emphasizing the government's commitment to development in health, education, and infrastructure.
The Chief Minister assured strict action against activities like cow slaughter, religious sentiment offenses, conversion, land jihad, and rioting. Earlier, in Kashipur city, CM Dhami supported BJP candidates in the municipal elections and criticized the Congress party for corruption, noting the absence of top Congress leaders' photos on campaign materials.
The State Election Commission of Uttarakhand announced the Municipal Local Body General Elections for 2024-25, scheduled for January 23, with vote counting on January 25. Elections will be held for 11 municipal corporations, 43 municipal councils, and 46 Nagar Panchayats across the state.
