Recent Arrests in Chamoli and Pauri

In the past 48 hours, two individuals were arrested in Uttarakhand for allegedly accepting bribes. This action is part of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami’s initiative for a “corruption-free Uttarakhand.” The arrests were made by the Vigilance Sector Dehradun.

Details of the Arrests

Excise Inspector Jaibeer Singh from Chamoli was caught accepting a bribe of Rs 30,000. Similarly, Revenue Inspector Kailash Ravi was arrested in Pauri for taking a bribe of Rs 15,000.

Corruption Free App 1064

The state has launched the ‘Corruption Free App 1064’ to address public complaints about corruption. Posters promoting the app are displayed in government offices to raise awareness. Over 980 complaints have been registered, leading to the arrest of nearly 32 individuals in the past nine months.

Impact and Future Actions

In the last 23 years, 303 people have been arrested in 281 corruption cases in Uttarakhand. The Chief Minister emphasized that strict actions will continue against corrupt individuals. The app has empowered citizens to report corruption anonymously.
