Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami Launches ‘Lakhpati Didi Abhiyan’ in Rudraprayag
Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami attended the ‘Lakhpati Didi Abhiyan- Shakti Ko Samman’ event at Agastyamuni Krida Maidan in Rudraprayag. He announced plans to market local Kedarghati products under the Kedar brand, aiming to boost women’s livelihoods. The initiative also seeks to enhance the valley’s identity beyond its religious significance.
CM Dhami paid tribute to the late Kedarnath MLA Shaila Rani Rawat, pledging to continue her work. He highlighted the state’s swift response to the July 31 heavy rains, which caused significant damage. Approximately 15,000 people were rescued, and the yatra route was restored within a month.
Dhami praised women’s self-help groups for their role in creating world-class products and improving livelihoods. The state has opened 110 outlets on the Chardham Yatra routes, benefiting over 4,000 women in Rudraprayag district. The government plans to implement strict land laws and become the first state to adopt the Uniform Civil Code. Dhami affirmed that Kedarnath Dham’s unique status will be preserved.
