Uttarakhand CM Honors Martyrs at 200th Balidan Diwas
On October 3, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami paid tribute to Raja Vijay Singh, Senapati Kalyan Singh, and 152 martyrs of the 1822-24 revolution in Kunja Bahadurpur, Roorkee. The event marked the 200th Balidan Diwas. CM Dhami emphasized the importance of remembering the sacrifices made for India’s independence and proposed recognizing the Balidani Sthal as a national memorial.
He praised the Shaheed Raja Vijay Singh Memorial and Kanya Shiksha Prasar Samiti for their work in highlighting the martyrs’ stories. A book on the martyrs’ lives was also released. Earlier, CM Dhami paid homage to Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri on their birth anniversaries, acknowledging their contributions to the nation.
Dhami highlighted the ongoing efforts inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav to honor unsung heroes and promote the Atmanirbhar Bharat vision for a clean, healthy, and prosperous India.
