Pithoragarh (Uttarakhand) [India], June 21: Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami shared his thoughts on the significance of Yoga and International Yoga Day at an event in Adikailash. He highlighted the benefits of yoga, stating, “Yoga has the power to make human life happy. Yoga is a confluence of body, mind, and soul.”

CM Dhami encouraged tourists and devotees visiting Adikailash to come as devotees to experience spiritual peace. He mentioned that the influx of tourists would create employment opportunities for locals and promote local products, including the woollen carpet industry.

The Chief Minister emphasized the development of 100% homestay-based tourism, preserving local architecture in new constructions, and improving transport facilities. He stressed the importance of transparency in issuing inner line permits to facilitate visitors.

Addressing border stability, CM Dhami noted the need to prevent unrest and ensure visitors do not face issues with middlemen. He also discussed pollution control measures, including reviving traditional water sources and promoting environmental conservation.

CM Dhami announced plans to develop Gunji into a Shivdham with input from local residents and integrate nearby villages into the development mainstream. He performed yoga with locals, security personnel, and tourists at Parvati Sarovar and expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for promoting yoga globally.
