Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Dhami Launches Salt Nutrition Scheme

On Saturday, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami launched the ‘Chief Minister Salt Nutrition Scheme’ at the Himalayan Cultural Center in Dehradun. This scheme will provide iodized salt at Rs 8 per kg per month to 14 lakh ration card holders under the Antyodaya and Primary Family Scheme.

During the launch, Dhami distributed iodized salt to beneficiaries and emphasized the scheme’s goal to combat iodine deficiency among pregnant women and children. He stated, “Taking forward the resolution of Prime Minister Narendra Modi for poor welfare and healthy society, the Salt Nutrition Scheme has been started in the state.”

Dhami praised the double-engine government for its efforts to improve the lives of the poor, mentioning the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Yojana, which provides free ration to 14 lakh poor families in Uttarakhand. He also highlighted other welfare schemes like Ayushman Bharat, Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, and Aawas Yojana.

Dhami expressed confidence in the scheme’s success and reiterated the government’s commitment to providing nutritious food and a transparent system for the state’s residents. He noted that over nine lakh people in Uttarakhand have risen above the poverty line in the past five years, thanks to various government initiatives.
