Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami held a meeting with priests, officials, hotel associations, tour operators, transporters, and business boards from the Char Dhams at the Secretariat. The meeting focused on ensuring the safe and smooth conduct of the Char Dham Yatra, which attracts lakhs of devotees from India and abroad.

Key Discussions

The Chief Minister emphasized the collective responsibility for the safe conduct of the Yatra. He mentioned that the government is working on developing infrastructure to accommodate the increasing number of devotees. From the first week of September, online registration for the Yatra will continue, and offline spot registration will be available at key stops like Haridwar, Rishikesh, Gangotri, Yamunotri, Kedarnath, and Badrinath.

Future Plans

Dhami announced that preparations for the next Char Dham Yatra would begin immediately after the current one ends. District officers will hold meetings with stakeholders to prepare a strategy. The work on the ropeway from Kharsali to Yamunotri and road widening from Paligadh to Janakichatti will be expedited. A special train named Ganga-Yamuna Express will be introduced, and heli services in Yamunotri are also planned.

Stakeholder Gratitude

Various stakeholders expressed their gratitude to the Chief Minister for the detailed meeting. They appreciated that for the first time, a Chief Minister has discussed the Yatra in such detail. Dhami assured that all suggestions would be considered for the safe conduct of the Yatra and directed the Garhwal Commissioner to hold meetings every 15 days.
