Uttarakhand Chief Secretary Radha Raturi has instructed all departments related to the Chardham Yatra to update real-time data on the soon-to-be-launched Chardham Dashboard. This initiative aims to improve coordination among departments by sharing dynamic information.

Key Instructions

Chief Secretary Raturi emphasized the need for:

  • Deploying one nodal officer in each department.
  • Updating data on black spots, slipping zones, alternative routes, road obstructions, and accidents.
  • UCADA to update heli service cancellations due to bad weather.
  • Animal Husbandry Department to update data on fodder, hot drinking water, and veterinarians for mules.
  • Police Department to update parking information.

Future Plans

The dashboard will initially be used for administrative coordination and later opened to the public. Additional instructions include GIS tagging of work done on the Yatra route and adding other tourist places like Mussoorie to the dashboard.

Environmental Measures

Chief Secretary Raturi has also instructed the mandatory use of trash bags in vehicles of pilgrims and tourists, with regular checks and challans. Letters will be sent to municipal bodies, corporations, and district panchayats to enforce this rule.

Insurance for Mules

District Magistrates have been directed to arrange insurance for mules providing services on the Yatra route.
