Uttarakhand Chief Secretary Radha Raturi Pushes for Electrification and Development Projects

Uttarakhand Chief Secretary Radha Raturi has given instructions to electrify the remaining 227 Gram Panchayat buildings out of 697 in the state under the Bharat Net Project. This will help provide broadband connectivity as soon as possible.

Raturi emphasized the importance of implementing the Bharat Net Project in a time-bound manner, considering the state’s difficult geography, strategic importance, and sensitivity to natural disasters.

Project Reviews

Chief Secretary Radha Raturi reviewed several projects including:

  • Delhi-Dehradun Expressway
  • Deoband Roorkee Railway Line Project
  • AMRUT 2.0 (Atal Mission for Rejuvenation & Urban Transformation 2.0)
  • PM-ABHIM (PM-Ayushman Bharat Health Infrastructure Mission)

During the meeting, it was reported that out of 697 Gram Panchayats, 339 have been electrified with permanent connections. Additionally, 173 Gram Panchayats have paid the required fee for electrification, and 43 have been shifted to urban areas, with 33 already electrified.

Other Directives

Raturi also directed the quick implementation of the Delhi-Dehradun Expressway and Deoband Roorkee Railway Line Projects, ensuring effective coordination with the Uttar Pradesh government.

She instructed regular monitoring of projects under the AMRUT 2.0 program and emphasized training citizens, especially women self-help groups, in water testing and the operation of water treatment plants.

For the PM-ABHIM program, Raturi called for a time-bound action plan and regular updates on the PMS portal regarding mapping, progress, photographs, and expenditure information.
