On Thursday, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami commended the One Rank One Pension (OROP) scheme, noting its positive impact on over 1.16 lakh military personnel in Uttarakhand. He emphasized that the scheme symbolizes the BJP government’s dedication to honoring the army.
The OROP scheme, implemented by the central government under Prime Minister Narendra Modi on November 7, 2015, provides equal pension to retired soldiers of the same rank and service length, regardless of their retirement date. The benefits were made effective from July 1, 2014.
