Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami Reacts to Tragic Accident in Tehri

A tragic accident occurred in Tehri, Uttarakhand, where a woman named Reena Negi and her two nieces, Agrima (10) and Anvita (7), were killed. The incident happened when a car driven by Assistant Block Development Officer (BDO) Devi Prasad Chamoli ran over them during their evening walk on Nagar Palika Karyalaya Road.

According to Assistant Superintendent of Police JR Joshi, the accident took place around 7 p.m. on Monday. Reena Negi died on the spot, while her nieces were declared brought-dead by doctors. Two other individuals sustained minor injuries and are currently receiving treatment at the hospital.

The police have arrested Devi Prasad Chamoli, and further legal action is being taken. Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami expressed deep grief over the incident and prayed for the peace of the departed souls. He also directed the Commissioner of Rural Development Uttarakhand to suspend Chamoli immediately. Chamoli has been suspended under the provisions of moral turpitude and criminal charges as per the Uttarakhand Government Servant Discipline and Appeal Rules.
